About the Role
We are seeking a Landscape CAD Designer to join our team.
In this role, you'll be essential in designing and developing detailed landscape plans and site layouts using CAD software.
You'll work closely with landscape architects and other stakeholders to translate conceptual ideas into
functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces.
This position requires strong technical skills, an understanding of engineering principles,
and a collaborative spirit to ensure all project requirements are met.
Requirements and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a CAD Designer, ideally within the landscape design or civil engineering industry.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in CAD software like AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering principles, grading techniques, and land development processes.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with effective communication skills.
- Good to Have: Knowledge of GIS, map projections, and basic graphics software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed landscape plans, site layouts, and construction drawings.
- Collaborate with architects and designers to translate conceptual ideas into practical, functional designs.
- Conduct cut and fill volume calculations to optimize earthwork and ensure proper drainage.
- Prepare comprehensive technical drawings, including plan views, elevations, sections, and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding design requirements and approvals.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in landscape CAD engineering.
